We boarded our sweet African Grey with Gail a few weeks ago, I was SO nervous as we have never left her with anyone before and I am sure I drove Gail crazy with my questions and nerves đ but what can I say, Gail was amazing. Not only did she put me at ease by answering all my questions but you can just see in her her love of birds and her knowledge! Also what a beautiful place to board. Iâd like a holiday there! Thank you Gail and team for taking care of my Bitsy girl. Iâm glad she behaved for you and What a proud parront moment to hear that! đ
Thank you again from us all
The only problem with Gail is that she is so amazing that I now don’t trust anyone else to look after my Bobby and Blaze. A while back when I lived overseas and they were boarding at TN, Blaze had a respiratory problem just when Gail had embarked on a rare trip away with Rob. She turned right around and most likely saved Blaze’s life with her prompt and supremely unselfish action. I do still feel guilty about the lost break though! Gail is an absolute star and a true professional. I’m a zoologist myself with many years’ experience of working in zoos and with parrots (Wolfgang Kiessling showed me his Spix’s Macaws once!) and I can recommend Gail unreservedly. I only hope that she eventually finds time to actually go on a proper holiday one day!
I have been taking Reggie my African Grey to Toos Nest for several years and couldn’t ask for anyone better to look after him.
The room and his cage are always spotless and he enjoys the company of the other birds there (often picking up some new whistles!). Gail has kindly trimmed his claws if they’ve needed doing and I have total confidence that he’ll be happy, safe and comfortable.
Can’t recommend highly enough.
Iâve known Gail for a number of years and there is no one else I would trust with my three.
They are always looked after as if they were her own and her knowledge and care is second to none.
Would highly recommend
Always a wonderful service from Toos Nest; we feel completely confident leaving our bird here as she always has excellent care (and enjoys having screaming contests with any other visiting counted, sorry Gail!). The facilities are beautifully clean and well maintained with lots of space for each bird. Such a relief to have such a good place to take her.
Gail has looked after Gus, our Yellow Naped Amazon, several times over the past couple of decades. Gus is a rescue bird and I think had a very chequered history before I adopted her so it is reassuring to know that she is in very safe, knowledgeable hands and being cared for by someone as caring as Gail. A breakfast of wonderful fresh fruit and vegetables is part of the daily routine for guests at Toos Nest and cages are kept scrupulously clean. I highly recommend Toos Nest.
Our little blue English budgie loves his breaks here, he even comes away having learnt a few new sounds from the birds around him.
Knowing that he is being cared for in such lovely surroundings really helps with the guilt of going away in the first place and the services here are second to none.
We boarded our green cheek conure, Habibi, with Gail at Toos Nest for 2 weeks last month when we went abroad to get married.
She sent regular updates of him, took him out the cage a few times even though he was cheeky and bit her, and she even sent a happy wedding day message with Habibi holding a card for us!
We will definitely be sending him back when we go on holiday again. He came home with different whistles and screams from all his friends that he was rooming with too!
Gail also gave him a pedicure which was really appreciated!
Thank you so much for taking care of him.
We feel very lucky to have found Gail, as parrot boarding has been impossible to find in the last couple years! We boarded our cinnanom conure with Gail for two whole weeks in June and not only did Chilli come back home her usual happy self, but she also lost weight! Thank you so much, Gail, for helping with Chilli’s weight problem!
Overall, Gail has been very accomodating and helpful with the check-in/check-out on her only day off, and offered to drive us from/to the train station as we don’t drive.
Thank you for keeping us updated whilst away – that gave us the peace of mind much needed when on holiday. We’ll be back! – Andreea & Steve
We boarded our female pineapple conure Vivian with Gail over Christmas 2022 she was so well looked after and with a room full of other birds never bored or lonely. Gail kept us updated and sent us some photos on Christmas Day which was wonderful. She provided a cage for her which was exactly the same as hers, so she felt at home. Gail also trimmed her nails for us as well, her knowledge of birds is amazing and it shows in how well taken care Vivian was.
Upon picking Vivian up we saw another pineapple conure thatâs had been surrendered to Gail his name was Archie and he had a sore foot, he took quite a shine to my husband. About 3 weeks later when he was all healed Gail gave us a call and asked if weâd be interested in re homing him, we said yes. Gail gave us lots of advice in how to introduce them and advice about if they made eggs đ„ . It was very successful and Vivian and Archie are loved up Sharing a cage and heâs a wonderful addition to our family (no eggs yet!) Gail also DNA tested Archie for us, trimmed his beak and nails.
So in all we canât recommend Gail enough and we definitely use her for all our birdies needs in the future!
Gail cared for my sonâs conure over Christmas. He was so well cared for and happy/healthy when we collected him. Gail was so confident with him and made us feel confident to leave him (weâve never left him before). The price is so reasonable for all the great care each bird receives. Totally recommend Gail and will definitely be leaving our feathered friend with her again.
Gail looked after my Conure Cherry a few times last year. Gail is very kind, caring and knows everything there is to know about parrots so I knew Cherry would fine. I even got photo updates while we was on holiday. I think he actually looked forward to going, there was always other parrots boarding there at the same time so it was nice he had the company. Cherry would always come home chilled and happy so I know he had a good time. I would definitely recommend Gail.
Gail goes absolutely above and beyond for both birds and their owners. I can’t imagine anywhere we could leave our GCC when we have to go away that we could have such confidence in. We always know that she’ll be in excellent hands while we’re away and the prices are incredibly reasonable. Cannot recommend this service highly enough!
Gail has been looking after our Amazon and African Grey for many years now and I know without a shadow of a doubt, they love being with her when we are away. We have a week of sulking when they come home! She carries out their Polly Pampering too on a regular basis and it always impresses me that she still has all her fingers and does such a brilliant job of keeping their beaks and claws trimmed. Cannot recommend highly enough. I would never send them to anyone else but Gail.
Gail has done a fantastic job looking after our two budgies Ricky and Sid whilst we were on holiday. She looks after birds specifically so knows their needs and the veg platter certainly got our birds excited. The budgies had a great time staying amongst their peers and came back energised and bubbly. Ricky has learned some new bird noises and I do wonder whether they thought they had a holiday, not us!
I have just collected my 3 macaws and African grey after Gail had them for boarding for 3 weeks. This is the first time I have ever left my birds with anyone else but I wasnât worried from the first moment that I met Gail!
At the last moment as covid testing changed 24 hrs before we went it put us under huge pressure so Gail came and collected all my flock from my house which was fantastic! They were brilliantly cared for and let out from their cages regularly and a great diet given, fresh food supplied by Gail and I brought my own pellets.
I was given updates and photos so regularly I never had to message to check on them as Gail was always one step ahead of me with updates.
On the way home in the car from collecting our African grey proudly showed us all her new noises she had learnt including the sound the conures made who she was housed next to!!
One of my macaws can be very temperamental with her biting but Gail wasnât phased and found her own way of getting her to step up going back into the cage, without any injuries!
Once home my 4 birds settled back quickly into their aviary and routine with me and you wouldnât guess that they had been separated from me and their usual surroundings as are completely chilled.
Finding Gail has been so wonderful as we are reassured moving forwards that we can think about going away again in the future as we have complete confidence in leaving them at Toos Nesting again.
Added bonus was that they all had âpolly pamperingâ a day before they came home so they looked all clean and fluffy with beautifully trimmed nails. I think the birds just think they didnât go to away but went away for a ârest and a spa breakâ!!!
Gail has been very helpful from the first time I spoke to her in 2020 about boarding our budgie. Our little man has had health conditions since he was tiny and for this reason we have always been nervous about leaving him. We have never used a bird boarder before and even though it is around a 30 minute drive from us we are so glad that Bert went to stay at Toos Nest.
Gail was very friendly, accommodating, knowledgeable and even sent us photo updates on how Bert was getting on. We have picked him up today he was returned to us in a beautifully clean cage and seems very happy! We will not hesitate to use Toos Nest boarding again!.
We had Gail look after our Caique for a few days while we went on holiday down the coast. I was worried leaving him for the first time, especially as he hasn’t been around any other birds since he was a baby. Gail has a big heart for our feathered friends and takes such good care of them, I got a few pictures of him throughout the stay and he came home very happy! Will be absolutely be using Too’s Nest for future boarding needs, and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to any bird owner.
Leaving Kiwi, my rescue Green Cheek Conure with Gail I always feel like I’m not the only one going for a vacation. Kiwi always comes back well adjusted and happy especially since she gets to fly around and meet new bird friends and is treated so well! Gail has always been very welcoming and very great to work with and I’m so glad I found her boarding nest!
Absolutely Recommend!
I’ve boarded my African Grey Blue with Gail at Toos Nest for two weeks two years ago and she seemed very happy and came back in great condition and seemed very happy thanking you for your hard work
Gail was very great, very caring and professional when we asked if we could board Jasper , our 1 year old Eclectus. She came and took a blood sample for testing (very painless for us and Jasper) Test was negative, and Jasper had two small holidays with Gail whilst we had our breaks. It was very simple to arrange and I’m sure he enjoyed it too with some feathered friends. We had photo updates of Jasper in the boarding room. He came back both times as happy as he was before. Thanks Gail
Gail has been doing my parrotâs nails and beak trim for many many years; a very experienced handler she even clears their nostrils, does nail and beak trim and she can spot if a parrot is underweight by holding them checking the keel bone. She gives suggestions and recommendation on diet, supplements and so on;
definitely worth calling a professional then do it yourself! Thank you Gail â

We picked our three parakeets up from Gail’s last week after nearly 3 months. This is the second time our pair have stayed with Gail – this second visit with their off-spring!
We know our parakeets are very demanding, but we have found Gail exudes competence and compassion when dealing with birds.
She is accommodating, going above and beyond, (for example when dealing with our late arrivals and providing us with sufficient food for them until we can go out and get some more), and the birds always seem well cared for when we have them back.
Rest assured she will look after your feathered friends.
Our 14 year old Bob, our parrot, has been looked after by Gail since infancy. She has been doing his claw and nail clipping every year and occasionally when we have gone on holiday, he has boarded at Toos Nest. He has received brilliant service in all aspects and at Toos Nest, he was very well looked after. Highly recommend Gail.
Our 28 yr old Eclectus Dusty, has been looked after by Gail for many years, for beak and claw trimming, and
polyday stays when weâve been on holiday
I would definitely not hesitate to recommend her to any bird lover.
We have boarded our sun conure with Gail for a number of years and wouldn’t go anywhere else. She trims his nails when required and we know he is in capable experienced hands.
We would recommend her services to any bird owner, her level of commitment, dedication and passion for care of birds and all other animals is amazing.
Thank you Gail and Toos nest
Hello humans and parronts in particular
Leaving Mr Mango our now 6 year old blue and gold macaw with Gail was a great decision. Mango is a strong character, he is stubborn, can push the boundaries, has high energy levels and loves being the boss, centre of attention and can intimidate and bit in order to get this. Due to the latter Mango has been in two other boarding facilities before we found Gail. The first one he only stayed in once and then we made the decision to move him and then he stayed in another boarding facility for up to 6/7 times, they looked after him amazingly but did struggle to manage his behaviour, dominance and stubborn ways; therefore, we made the decision to not return him there. We were on the verge of coming to the conclusion that we may have to forget holidays; however, after looking on the internet we came across Gail.
Prior to doing a trial run with Mango at Gailâs we have numerous discussions over the telephone, Gail telling me about her facility, sending me photos and emails, and me advising her about Mr Mango and his personality, energy and antics. My initial reaction was that she were so helpful, asked a lot about Mango and advised what she could offer us and, most importantly him, in respect of boarding. None of the other options available stood out like Gail as she has huge experience with large birds, is an ex avarian nurse (Mango has asthma), has latge birds of her own and is a strong character which Mango needs.
The boarding facilities are second to non, they are excellent â the birds have their own room and an extremely large aviary to fly around in (Mango has a lot of energy to get rid off). Additionally, Mango seems to enjoy watching all the other animals Gail has i.e: horses, emu, ducks, chickens, dogs etc.
Gailâs fee is amazing, considering what we have paid in the past to board Mango, her fee is so competitive considering what you and your bird are getting for your money. Personally I was shocked at how low Gailâs fee was considering what you get for the service. Gail offers a collection and drop off service which we have used. We have always taken Mango to Gailâs but on 3 or 4 occasions she has brought him home. On the last few occasions we have made the decision to collect Mango from Gailâs â this has nothing to do with the service Gail offers but means that we can collect him early and return home â were so excited to see him when we get back that we are impatient lol.
Mango has boarded with Gail a couple of times a year for the last few years while we have been on holiday but also while we have had our home renovated (stayed there around 8 to 9 times). Mango is our boy and we would not let him stay anywhere, hence us moving him before for different reasons but I can honestly say that he will be remaining with Gail as long as she will have him as she is brilliant with him, heâs a character and not always a good one but she is brilliant with him â she is a strong character and this is what Mango needs in order to stop him âwalking over peopleâ.
While we are away we message Gail and vice versa and she sends us photos and videos of Mango and also tells us what heâs being doing and how he has been (not always positive but honest and we know our bird so if it was all positive then we would know something was wrong lol). Due to Mangoâs antics I do find myself apologising to Gail a lot; however, she rubs it off with âdonât worry itâs my jobâ, this is Mangoâ etc etc which makes it feel better and us not feeling so guilty. Historically coming home has been an issue with Mango, when arrive to collect him at his previous boarders he had been so angry (cause we left him), he had attacked everyone, refused to get into his carrier and once home he had been in a bad mood for days. However, since staying at Gailâs this has honestly changed. When we are around 3 miles from her home I notify her and wait until she has him in his carrier and then I drive in to collect him. Once home it is like he has never left, he goes right back into his normal routine and is as âhappy as Larryâ.
We have on his last stay used the Polly pampering service for his nails. Due to Mangoâs asthma and behaviour the vet has always made the decision to give Mango a general anesthetic in order to perform this service. However, ideally we wanted to find away to avoid the vets and a general anesthetic and we asked Gail if she would try and cut them while he was staying there. After a few days of being with her Gail sent us some photos of Mango having his nails cut â he was sitting on his cage choosing what nuts he wanted to eat â he was happy and calm and did not have the side effects of the general anesthetic which take a while to wear off. I must also say that considering Gail did his nails while he was awake, I was so impressed that they actually looked better and shorted (our request) than when the vet does them. If Gails willing to do his nails again then this is definitely where we will be taking Mango as it is done while hes awake and no aftermath of the general anesthetic. Again a brilliant service offered.
Gailâs home is loving and full of life, she is down to earth, knowledgeable and a friendly person. I would highly recommend this boarding facility and would be more than happy to talk or communicate with anyone who was thinking of boarding their parrot here. Please have a look on Gailâs facebook page and website or request my email address from Gail. I can honestly say my boy would not stay anywhere but I trust Gail with him completely.
Thanks for everything you do
Becky and Mr Mango
Gail is a life saver! We had the opportunity to live and work in Australia for a while, but we couldn’t contemplate leaving our two small conures behind. After much research we found Toos Nest and came and spoke to Gail. Our minds were totally put at ease and our little darlings ended up staying with her for 18 months! They were so well looked after and we had regular updates. We’re thrilled to have our babies back now, but would definitely use Gail again đ
It was my first time visiting Toos Nest bird boarding. I left my two birds with Gail. This place is like a 5* hotel for birds. Gail is very welcoming and very attentive. All the birds are kept in a great condition. She is truly the bird whisperer.
I would strongly recommend Toos Nest bird boarding.
Had to board my friend Galah for a few days on short notice. Despite that Gail was able to help with testing and transport. Peanut being herself decided pickup day was great time to get herself all dirty and sticky with her fruits. She was returned in pristine condition and very happy. Well worth every pound.
Our parrotlet just spent a week at Too’s Nest and came home healthy and very happy. Gail was warm and reassuring, she sent us a photo of Nimbu settled in with his new neighbours on his first night and sent me another update when I checked in on him a couple of days later.
I was a little nervous leaving him for 9 nights, but we’ve notice no change in his behaviour at all, he’s happy to be home but also seems to have enjoyed his stay, and he’s picked up some new noises from his neighbours which have been making us laugh.
I will be booking him in for another stay in September and feel happy to do so knowing he’s in such good hands.
It was the first time my Amazon and my Ecclectus stayed at a boarding facility. I was nervous but Gail put me at easy answering all my questions. Gail is so experienced and passionate about birds that there inst anyone better to look after them, this isn’t a boarding facility but is rather a home away from home, both of my boys comeback home happy as if I have never been away, and not to mention the amazing grooming work they comeback home with, shine beaks and lovely nails. Trust is everything and trust is what I have when using Toos Nest, I know my birds will be safe, loved and well looked after.
First time we have boarded our African Grey Charlie with Gail at Toos Nest , very happy with the service Gail provides. Charlie was very happy when we collected him, boarding before at other places he comes home and is so quiet for days but with Gail he was so happy.
We will be boarding with Gail again and can recommend her boarding services, thanks Gail.
This year we left Hughie, our blue Fronted Amazon with Gail, firstly in June for a week and then again end of August for two weeks. After the care he received when we left him last year for the very first time (as nervous parents) we had no hesitation in boarding him again in the knowledge that he is so well cared for, has plenty of company etc. Gail is obviously a bird nut, and dedicates all of her time to the welfare of our feathered friends. Once again, we would not hesitate in recommending her and her team for looking after your beloved bird. Thank you Gail.
I could not recommend Gail and Too’s Nest highly enough.I was really worried about leaving my Tmneh George to go on holiday as I had never left him before. Gail kept me updated with how George was doing which put my mind at rest. I have left George a number of times since and know he is being cared for and looked after by the very knowledgeable Gail.
We found Toos Nest in late 2018 and we are so glad we did! Our parrot Buddy has boarded here twice so far, including one very last minute booking for which Gail was very accommodating. It is such a relief for us to be able to travel with peace of mind knowing that Buddy will be happy, safe and healthy. Gail herself is great with communication and is also really fair with pricing, particularly given the standard of care being provided. We would happily recommend Toos Nest to others.
We boarded our two birds (a Goffin Cockatoo and an African Grey) for the first time after our previous boarder had to retire for health reasons. However she recommended Gail to us and before boarding our birds we visited Gail at Toos Nest. It was obvious from that initial meeting that Gail is a professional. She has a wealth of experience and clearly cares for all animals and birds. Toos nest is a wonderful place, set up to meet all the birds needs. We left our two there for a week whilst on our holiday and were able to go away feeling confident they were in safe hands. On our return we found both our birds to be very happy and clearly well cared for whilst we were away, with our grey reluctant to leave.
We highly recommend Gail and have been so impressed we have already booked our two for a return visit later this year.
Gail is amazing-a highly professional lady who obviously loves what she does & really cares for her feathered visitors. Our avian vet told us one of our greys who was in her care was overweight & she managed to slim him down a little in 3 weeks. She also agreed at the last minute to look after our 4 tortoises & wormed them after finding one passed a large one! This was no simple task as we found out when we had to give them a second treatment Gail picked up our menage & brought them back including a large cage. I would most certainly recommend Gail & will certainly use Toos NestBird Boarding if she’ll have us back!! Her charges are very reasonable too. Thanks so much Gail from Frankie, Tommy & 4 wormed tortoises.
I can’t recommend Gail highly enough. I was relocating from the UK to the Middle East 5 years ago with my two boys, a Sun Conure (Blaze) and Hahn’s Macaw (Bobby) and at the last moment live bird exports from the UK were stopped. so, they were in a holding facility at Heathrow Airport for a year before I found Gail. She went to pick them up and looked after them for four years while I was overseas. She is very professional, knows exactly what she is doing and really cares about the birds she’s looking after. At one point, just as she was taking a rare break, Blaze collapsed on the cage floor. Gail to her immense credit rushed back and made sure he received the necessary emergency vet treatment and thank goodness he recovered, but that might not have happened in a place less experienced with parrots. It was a great comfort to know that Blaze was in such good hands.
I’m back in the UK now, and working as a zoo director so have lots of parrots around me on a daily basis. It’s great to have Bobby and Blaze back with me and I can’t thank Gail enough for all she has done to look after them during my absence from the UK. She is a real professional who knows exactly what she’s doing and really cares about the birds she is looking after.
We were very nervous about boarding our Blue Fronted Amazon Hughie while we went on holiday, but after a lot of research found Toos and went to visit and have a look around. Met all the birds that were there boarding, and immediately knew this was the place for Hughie as you could tell they were extremely well looked after and all looked very happy. Gail talked us through her routine and how she would care for Hughie on his arrival.
Gail came and collected Hughie from our home and he was strapped into the front seat of the car and looked surprisingly excited as he took off for his âpollydaysâ. Being a nervous first timer, we kept in touch via text a few times and Gail even sent a picture of Hughie enjoying himself in the outdoor flight area. He looked so happy and therefore we were able to enjoy our holiday without any worries at all. During his stay, Gail clipped his beak and nails too. Gail also dropped him back to ours on our return.
I thought he might come back in a sulky mood, but he has just slipped back into our routine as normal, which goes to show he has enjoyed our time apart doing, seeing and hearing something different with plenty of other bird interaction and company.
We could not feel happier with the care and attention Gail gave to Hughie, she obviously loves her job and all the birds she cares for. 100% recommend Toos as the place for your family feathered friend, you will not receive better care anywhere else. Thank you Gail, and we will be in touch next time we go away.
I boarded my two African Grey’s at Toos nest for the first time last week. Gail was very professional and helpful about making the arrangements, and the birds seemed so happy that one didn’t want to come out of his cage to come home. We will be back.
I have no hesitation in recommending Gail who has looked after my African Grey many times over a period of years and she has always taken the utmost care of him.
We have booked him in with Gail at Toos Nest again this summer reassured that he will be returned in a happy tip top condition.
Gail has looked after my two Alexandrine parakeets on a number of occasions now. She is amazing with them and I wouldn’t send them anywhere else. They are so well cared for and Gail has given me great care advise and clipped their claws also.
We left our 35 year old sulphur crested cockatoo with Gail on two occasions this year. The first time he had been away from home in 12 years. Gail is such a pleasant person to know and so obviously an animal lover. She took such good care of Wiggy, we couldn’t recommend her more highly.
Thank you Gail
I have been boarding my two African Greys on a regular basis with Gail for the last couple of years. I am always confident that they are in good hands. There are many other types of pets Gail has which shows me she is good with all types of animals and is especially good at handling parrots. I would certainly recommend Gail if you are planning to board your parrot somewhere safe.
Weâve been using Gail to board our birds for over four years now.
One of our greys, Rory, is a bit of a handful at the best of times and weâre still amazed at how easily Gail can get him settled down and comfortable so quickly. Heâs very highly strung so Gail always makes arrangements so that his cage is in a quiet place and ensures sure that he has a high perch to sit on (anything else WILL be ignored).
Recently, we had to adopt another grey in rather a rush and Gail sorted out the PBFD and sex tests in record time for us (young Max turned out to be Maxy!). Gail always makes time to have a chat and is an absolute fund of knowledge on all things birdy which she is delighted to share.
All in all, we canât recommend Toos Nest Bird Boarding highly enough.
I have been using Gail for a number of years now and trust her 100% with my parrot children. I travel quite a distance to use the hotel because I have so much confidence in Gail, her expertise and the love and care Gail gives the animals that she looks after. Not to mention the Polly pampering that my African Grey(s) get during their stay.
Without hesitation, I fully recommend Gail and Toos Nest.
When my regular Parrot holiday home closed I was anxious to find a knowledgeable, caring and kind replacement. I came across Toos Nest and was extremely impressed with Gail and her empathy with parrots and I cannot recommend her highly enough as she treats all holidaying parrots with the love, care and attention that she lavishes on her own beloved feathered friends.
I have been using Gail for just over a year know to look after myAfricanGrey (Pepi)and have been so pleased that I can go on holiday and know that she is in good hands she is such a lovely lady who certainly knows about her parrots I cannot recommend her more highly enough always looking after her at short notice. So if you need someone to look after you birds Gail your lady. Mick
My two parrots were emergency boarding as my nephew who looks after them was waiting for a major operation. I googled parrot boarding and recognized Gail’s name immediately as a person who could not be any better experienced to look after them. I was not wrong.I know there are few people who know how to look after parrots, understand their different characteristics and when they need emergency attention from a vet, take action.
I have booked my parrots in to board longer next year. I have never left them longer than 7 days. It will be a holiday for them and for me!!
I have been boarding my flock with Gail for a while now. I can whole heartedly say I would never trust my parrots (FIDS) with anyone else like I do Gail. She is great with them and they trust her which is not always the case with other people. She is always willing to help and has gone above and beyond to accommodate for us when we have needed to board our flock last minute. They are always clean, well fed and looked after. I wouldn’t use anyone else!
I have left our parrot Ollie in Gailâs safe hands for over ten years now.
You could not wish for a more perfect lady to look after your bird.
Gail is kind and compassionate and nothing is ever too much trouble for her .
We’ve been boarding our two budgies with Gail over a number of years when we go away on holiday, we just want to share our appreciation of Gail for the great care our birds recieve whilst the’re boarding. We would not entrust our birds with anyone else! Thank you Gail.
Gail has been involved with my cockatiels over a number of years. Sadly I now have only one called Billy Boy who spends his holidays with Gail.
Her love and care of birds is second to none and she always takes notice of a birds special individual needs (Billy likes his cage to be covered up in a particular way when he goes to bed).
Gail has also been most helpful when Billy was ill at home, e mailing and advising me and generally helping to steer us through a very anxious time.
I would thoroughly recommend Toos Nest Bird Boarding to you.
I left my african grey (George) with Gail at Toos Nest in April whilst I went on my first holiday in many years. We have never left George and he is a spoilt birdy who is out of his cage most of the time. I was very nervous about leaving him and did a lot of research on the web to find a good place for him to board. Gail was so kind and understanding and kept in touch with me throughout my holiday. George seemed to have a great time and was absolutely fine when he came home and very happy. We are going to leave George with Gail in September and I feel so confident about it, it is such a relief to find somebody caring enough to look after my precious boy.
We have boarded our beaky-noise-machine Caique with Gail a number of times – and would not consider using anyone else!
As with other “parents” we were nervous of leaving Bertie – actually for Gail’s sake!
Gail very kindly let us meet her and the flock before our first “trial run”; of course Bert was fine, and thankfully so was Gail!
We are very grateful that Gail provides a very flexible and comprehensive service, Beaks, ‘nails’ and wing clips too if you wish.
I think it is important to say that Gail is very knowledgeable and accommodating, we have found her service to be first class – we recommend you give her a try !
I use Gailâs service for the last three years. We travel a lot and my birdies are often in her care. I am always very confident about my lovebirds when they are with Gail. Over the years we developed a very friendly relationship . Gail gave me very valuable advices about my birds on a number of occasions. She also helped me to adopt some unwanted birds when I requested.
It is hard to find more caring, bird loving, animal loving person than Gail. I feel very privileged to know her as a person , who dedicated her life to helping birds and other animals.
Gail usually looks after our sun conure pepper at least once a year and has taken him in on short notice when we got our moving date. Nothing is ever too much and heâs always well cared for. Gailâs knowledge and advice is always welcome and invaluable. I wouldnât use anyone else
i,ve left my African grey with Gail for 3 year,s now when i go on holiday, so nice to have a lovely caring person to look after him.it,s a releaf to find a responsable person who cares about her bird,s. she comes and pick,s him up and then later on bring,s him back, also he has his nail,s clipped, keep up the boarding Toots Nest.xx
I have boarded my african grey with Gail quite a few times now and find Gail to be very caring person nothing is to much trouble for her and she is very good at clippin her claws. I have no trouble in recomending Gail to any one who needs there birds looked after and the lady picks up and brings back now that is service you wouldent find a nicer caring person like Gail top marksxxx
I have been boarding my birds for a number of years with Gail. Nothing is too much trouble for her. I can go on holiday knowing that my birds are in safe hands.
Gail provides a fantastic invaluable service. A true gem!
Gail picked up our 2 Cockatiel “Ellie and Ollie and looked after them for 10 days, she was so professional and the bird’s so relaxed and Happy well looked after My Wife and I would recommend Toos Nest to anyone.
.
My Birds have been boarding at Tooâs Nest for several years and I would never consider sending anywhere else. The care they receive is the best, a real home from Home. One of my greys is very nervous but he is completely relaxed when he stays. Gail is very experienced with handling birds especially when she looked after my very moody stropy macaw. I wouldnât trust anyone else.
Iâve just got home with my 2 cockatiels after a 10 day stay and itâs like theyâve never been away, no sulking & straight back into their usual routine of chasing each other around the house! I would 100% recommend Gail, her bird knowledge is second to none and she has a real passion for what she does which shows in the way she goes about her boarding. Previous attempts at boarding elsewhere have ended up with a very grumpy cockatiel but this time Gail totally spoilt them, giving them company to chat to and a happy lamp to bask under…we have already booked a second stay and hope Gail keeps Toos Nest going as we wonât look anywhere else from now on! Thanks for everything – Matt, Vicki, Pickles and Elvis
I originally got my parakeet Pip from Gail as she had taken him in as a rescue. Since then Pip has spent many holidays with her and is always very well looked after. Heâs not easy as he doesnât really like being with other birds but Gail finds him a spot where he feels happy and secure, sometimes in the office with her which is a great sacrifice as heâs rather noisy. Gail is happy to give updates on how he is settling and has also helped me with advice in the past as Pip is my first bird. I would not hesitate in recommending Gail and Tooâs Nest to anyone who wishes to board their bird and be confident that they are being well looked after.
We found Gail through a lady who used to look after our African Grey until she retired. Itâs so obvious how much Gail loves birds and we had no doubts about leaving Ozzy there in her care. The cages are spotlessly clean and are fed quality food. He always comes home happy and chatty which says it all. Going to be booking him in again very soon.
FOurteen years ago I rehomed my African Grey as a two-year old disfunctional avian chav. Things have come a long way but not far enough for my dear friend to house and critter sit for a five week period. She even volunteered to pay for the ‘Luftwaffe’, to go to parrot camp. I researched many parrot boarding establishments, no distance too far, whittling them down to a shortlist based on rapport, facilities, knowledge, attitude, cost and reference. Gail’s website was most encouragingly thorough, her obvious knowledge and love of what she does, through conversation, was confidence inspiring. During our site visit we were introduced to all her charges in their heated and animated environment (her emu, wandering through the back garden was a bonus) and talked through expectation and daily programme. Harvey’s cage was well sized, her diet respected, and despite Gail’s arduous schedule, was allowed out of her cage supervised. Updates and photos were received. Harvey obviously enjoyed her stay – she came home happy, without throwing a three-day strop, with her previously chewed primary feathers growing back healthily. I am delighted to recommend Gail and have no hesitation in using her services in the future.
My cheeky little Conure Rosie usually stays with a member of family whenever a holiday is on the cards. When we needed someone to take care of her whilst we were all away together, it was really hard to find a decent sitter that I felt comfortable with. Gail was the perfect find. Although quite far from where I live, the trip was definitely worth it. Gail took great care of Rosie and made me feel very at ease. Gail kept in contact with me to let me know how Rosie was doing and and was really accommodating throughout the whole booking and boarding procedure.
I highly recommend boarding your parrot with her!
Every parrot knows how challenging is to find a half decent holiday destination around London. I spent days on end searching for a place that would accommodate my complex avian requirements. Finally, when the possibility of spending my time off with another bunch of pro-mammal oriented people started creeping up on me, I found my rescue in Kent.
I fall in love with Gail, the Toos Nest owner, straight away! She is a fine chick, I let you know. Definitely knows how to treat a real, strong-beaked fellow like myself. I mean, itâs like a dream come true!
She cooks everything that one should be eating, cleans your pad and pays you attention. What else would a parrot want?! Just perfect⊠so I stayed for 7 weeks. To make my relaxation complete, Gail even took care of all the correspondence with my two-legged friend. Guess what! She also fall in love with Gail so I will definitely be back.
Lots of love,
Gizzy

Jay is our 21 year old cockatiel who has never stayed with anyone outside family. A close relatives wedding abroad meant that no-one was available to look after Jay and I had to search for a board.
I was very anxious about leaving Jay as he has been with us his whole life. Not only that, but he is a moody, unsociable bird who likes to spend a lot of time outside of his cage. Quite the ask to find another place suitable for him.
Gail was very patient and answered all of my questions which assured me that he would be ok with her. She also accommodated Jay and let him spend the majority of his time outside of this cage. Overall he settled there very quickly and came home looking really healthy as she gave him vitamins everyday.
Gail also kept me updated whenever I contacted her and would send me pictures every time.
A good stay for Jay, and we were very happy with the service!
this is the first time we have ever left are African Grey with anyone and I was nervous about leaving him but I shouldn’t have worried. He had a lovely time and I would recommend Too’s Nest bird boarding to a friend and will be using them again..
I remember reading about Gail & Toos nest a few years ago in Parrot mag, so when I was going away on holiday I looked her up and found toos nest still going strong! Gail is just brilliant-bags of experience and loves her birds. She had a cage ready for my conure when we arrived, and he stayed in a great room surrounded by birds of a similar size. I fitted out the cage with his favourite toys and perches, and he was in there in no time-and having a bite to eat!! He was happy, I was happy. I can’t recommend Gail enough!!
I found Gail through online searches to board my ring neck parakeet who has never been away from home since I have had her, which is about 3 and half years.
I could not find a suitable place in North London to board her whilst I was away and despite it being a trek for me to get to Kent I found it all worthwhile.
My ring neck is a nervous bird and I was afraid that the hosts may have trouble with her but Gail was wonderful with the bird. She also kept me updated on how my bird was doing while I was away. Gail’s extensive knowledge of birds taught me a thing or two about my own ring neck.
I would not hesitate in recommending Too’s Nest.
I was so pleased to find Toos Nest Bird Boarding. A friend of mine had used them many times and highly recommended . I seldom leave any of my animals but my husband and I were travelling together and my mother was unable to house sit. I have a Senegal Parrot called Sunny. I wasn’t nervous of leaving him what so ever as Toos Nest is a very experienced home. We dropped off sunny but took of advantage of having him dropped back home after. He had lovely time and I feel he also had a lovely holiday. I can fully recommend this lovely place. It’s host a woman that lives for parrots !
Gail looked after my 2 year old blue and gold macaw Max for 12 days whilst we went away on holiday. I was very nervous leaving her as she had never spent time with anyone else since she’s been with us and I was worried she would have trouble settling. Gail kept in touch and let us know that she had settled in fine. My macaw was so happy during her stay with Gail I won’t be worried at all should we need to go away again. Thanks Gail for all your help.
I left my budgie Poppet with Gail for two weeks whilst I was away on holiday, it was the first time I had left him with strangers but Gail was brilliant with him and when I picked him up he was a happy bird. Gail also gave me advice about Poppet he was getting a little bit plump where I spoil him also she clipped his claws.
I would definitely recommend anybody with a bird looking for someone to look after theirs Gail is the one.
Gail looked after my Greenwing Macaw for 8 days while we went on holiday. I was nervous about leaving him but she was happy to keep in contact, which made me feel much better. She asked about all his likes and dislikes before we left and even though he was stroppy, she looked after him well and gave him lots of fruit! Despite his strop he came home and was back to being himself within half an hour so I’m confident he was looked after well. It’s good to know that I can think about another family holiday and know our feathered family member has somewhere he can go (with a fruity buffet!)
We boarded our 2 Peach Faced Lovebirds with Gail in June while we were in Norfolk for our wedding. This is the 1st time we had left then since we got them & we were a bit apprehensive but as soon as we met Gail we knew they would be fine. She put them in the smaller quiet room with some other budgies & small birds. She also checked their claws & beaks to see if they needed trimming even though the female pecks! We enjoyed our wedding & holiday as we knew they were being well looked after. When we picked the birds up they were very relaxed & happy. They are staying with Gail again in February. We would highly recommend Too’s Nest to anyone who wants to board their birds. Gail is lovely with the birds & very professional.
This was the first time Bulbul had pollidays with someone who isn’t family and because of her health problems, I was really worried. As soon as I spoke to Gail I started to de-stress, her calm professionalism soothed my fears. Bulbul enjoyed her break away and came home quite happy and because she was fine, I enjoyed my break too. I used the collect and deliver service Gail offers, which is great if you don’t have a car and reasonably priced. I was also impressed by Gail’s ‘human’, customer care, her handling of emails and telephone calls was excellent and she didn’t mind me, ‘checking up”, on Bulbul when I was away. Always calm and courteous. Without a doubt I will use Toos Nest again
My flock have stayed at Too’s nest several times. I was nervous at first as the macaw is a bit fiesty and the Ekkie a bit needy. They were in very good hands well looked after and i could have a worry free holiday. I particulary like the pampering service they get before they return home
I have boarded my Grey and Amazon with Gail for several years now, both at her old place and her new place .
Nothing is a bother with Gail, I all ways can be sure my birds ill be well cared for and looked after ,when we go on our little jollies around the world. And if anything serious occurred ,with the health and well being of my birds ,I can always be rest assured that they are in safe hands and will be taken good care of .
Thank you so much Gail
I have boarded my African grey Mia several times with Gail. It is with a relief as if anything goes wrong Gail is such an experienced carer she would take prompt action so you know they are properly looked after. She has many years experience handling exotics and it is great to see her set up and the aviaries with all the cockatoos and more. Gail also does claws and beak trims, pdfb tests and so on. HIghly recommened

Joey has boarded regularly at Toos Nest for over five years. He loves visiting so much that we pack him off for a little pollyday even if we aren’t going away. He enjoys the hanging out with the other birds and has made lots of new friends. Gail makes such a fuss of him that he now considers himself to be part of the family. This year has been a really horrible one for Joey as he’s been quite poorly but I’ve felt extremely confident leaving him with Gail as I know he’s in the best care and should he need treatment, she would notice immediately and take the right course of action. Toos Nest really is a home from home and the most wonderful holiday environment for your feathered friends!
Just collected Harry back from his Pollydays with Gail. He seems to enjoy it so much he is going back in September for another 2 weeks under Gail’s excellent care
When our regular parrot hotel was retiring, Gail was recommended, we were nervous at leaving Ozzy our African Grey with someone new but she is totally amazing. She clearly loves all birds and made us feel welcome. We were in Australia for 3 weeks and received messages to let us know that he was fine, which was really appreciated. Ozzy is booked in again and have no worries about him going there. ?
Gail saved my stress levels when i needed my African Greys boarding.
My greys are quite nervous birds and with one not being very friendly, i don’t have anyone i would trust to look after them for me other than Gail.
This is not the only time Gail has saved my stress levels. To save vet trips she has come to my house to help sort PBFD tests so they could board with her and also when i moved into my new little home, Gail came and popped them in there travel cages for me and helped move cages. She really does go out of her way to help people.
I have not had a holiday in years as i wont leave my birds, but i may well plan a well deserved break next year as i know Gail will look after my babies. A thank you to Rob aswell who has had to loose Gail to me a few times in my moments of need.
I highly recommend Gail @ The Toos Nest to anyone who owns a precious feathered friend
Last summer my gorgeous cockatoo Zsa Zsa was booked in with Gail whilst the entire family went to Italy for our Daughters wedding, shortly before we left my darling bird flew out of the door , inadvertently left open by me .we have never seen her since and I cannot tell you the total devastation this caused the family we were and still are bereft. The one person who gave us the first massive practical then emotional support was Gail , a lady I had not even had the pleasure of meeting. Gail was a total rock and we have since become fb friends and do I adore her . One day we’ll be ready for another too and I know Gail will always be there to support us , we cannot speak more highly of this wonderful , kind ,and huge hearted lady . Highly Recommendedxx
Toos Nest is simply the best bird hotel. We love our stay with Auntie Gail and always come home happy. Love Boo Bird, Perdita, Foozie and Merlin xxxx
I’ve been using Toos Nest to occasionally board Sybil, my Amazon, for about 5 years now. This was the first time Sybil had been boarded and she is very happy there. She has her own cage and I know she will receive good care and attention from Gail. Sybil will be spending this Christmas with Gail so I would not hesitate to recommend Gail and Toos Nest.
I would recommend Gail and Toos Nest Boarding to everyone. Gail is so knowledgeable and professional your birds are in safe hands. They get correct diets and care but also a ‘home from home’. Parrots are such particular birds that it pays to know that they are safe and well looked after. Relax and enjoy your time away ?.
Thank you Gail, Flick, Poppy and Kizzy xxx
As A new chicken owner I was nervous about leaving them in the care of someone, Gail was recommended to me, by a friend, I went and had a look at where they would be staying, just for a piece of mind, I didn’t have to think twice, I knew they would be well looked after. I knew my young chickens would be happy there and probably spoilt rotten. I love this chicken hotel, I got regular updates while I was away. I highly recommend Toos Nest, Gail is a lovely lady.
In 2013 I had to find a temporary home for Holly our Amazon parrot as I was moving to Dallas TX to join my husband. Luckily and thankfully I met Gail who gave me every confidence to board Holly at Toos Nest.It was supposed to be for 6months while I could get Holly’s permits to enter the USA. Unfortunately it took nearly 18months to get these (so if you are having to do this, myself and Gail are now experts on this).
I had no worries leaving Holly with Gail because her expertise and love of birds is quite remarkable.
We finally got Holly here in December2014 just in time for Christmas which made that christmas very special. I know Holly misses her stay at Toos Nest but she came with something she learnt whilst there. She can now sing opera thanks to one of the other birds there. It makes a good party piece.
If you are reading this because you need to board your bird look no further. I highly recommend Toos Nest
Kathy
Toos Nest Boarding is lovely. Sophie my U2 has stayed there a few times now since last year and she’s always in a good mood when I collect her. She babbles on about it in the car, I’m sure she’s saying she thought I’d abandoned her and telling me about the other birds. The birds there are characters and the flight areas are great, even though Sophie refuses to use them. Gail is a lovely lady and great with the birds.
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the place.
We first met Gail when she worked with Alan Jones and she has looked after our birds (now 2 African Greys 1 Red Lored Amazon and 1 Umbrella Cockatoo) ever since – don’t know what we would do without her. We know our birds are safe , happy and well looked after with her. Sometimes we think they would rather stay at Toos Nest than come home – in fact she has adopted two of ours that we needed to re-home. We would confidently recommend Gail to all bird owners who need to find a holiday home for their friends – look no further than Toos Nest.
It’s always a pleasure boarding our two birds – one of whom isn’t the easiest parrot in the world to handle – with Gail at Too’s Nest. She looks after them as if they were her own and we can always relax, knowing that they are in mega-safe hands. She’s incredibly accommodating, too and very flexible in meeting her client’s needs. We really cannot recommend her too highly.
We have used Too’s nest twice now and the service that Gail provides is brilliant. Paxo loves it there, listening and talking to all of the other birds, have to apologise if the other birds have picked up a few naughty words. Out the back there are a couple of large flight cages and Gail lets them out there whenever the weather is good, I like this as Paxo is out of her cage at home quite a lot. We will use Gail’s services again whenever we fly from Gatwick.
We were extremely pleased with the care and attention that Popeye received when he stayed at Toos Nest. He was calm and happy when he came home (even if he did acquire a few different calls ) We will definitely be calling on Gail again
Gail at Toos nest has been looking after our senigal Lilt whilst we have gone on our holidays over the last several years. We have always felt comfortable leaving him knowing he was in the best hands with someone who really does know her stuff. We felt as though Lilt always returned home happy after having alot of other birds around him to socialise with so in seeing this change in him, Gail helped us find a compatible senigal partner for Lilt and helped gradually introduced him to Peanut last year and as they say they are now living happily ever after lol. Many thanks Toos nest!
Harry our Mealy Amazon really enjoys his Polldays with Auntie Gail. He gets to talk(scream) with new friends and go outside in the summer. He goes 3/4 times a year and we know he is in excellent and knowledgeable hands. Cant recommend Toos Nest and Gail highly enough.
I definitely recommend the parrot boarding at Toos Nest. Gail is so good with my birds. I have 2 barrabands, 2 lovebirds a conure and eclectus. When they have stayed at Gails they have all been well looked after and come home happy. My eclectus has just come back from a week’s stay and was so happy and chatty. I wouldn’t board my birds anywhere else. Ive been using Gails services for a couple of years now. My friend also boards her birds aswell. Thumbs up from me. â â â â â
When my mother was no longer able to look after George my African Grey, I was very worried about leaving him with a ‘stranger’. I have boarded George several times with Gail over the years and he always knows he is going on ‘holiday’ because he gets so excited in the car on the way to Toos Nest. Gail is no longer a ‘stranger’ to George and he is very calm and relaxed around her. Gail has always reassured me about George when he is with her and I know now not to worry about him whilst he is in her care because he is absolutely fine and I can just get on and enjoy my holiday. Gail has also given me invaluable advice over the years about food, grooming, cages and parrot behaviour. She is very knowledgeable and I trust her with George implicitly. I won’t take him anywhere else and I thoroughly recommend Toos Nest to anyone who wants to leave their parrot in safe hands whilst they go away on holiday.
I have used Gail for quite a few years and would not trust anyone else with my boys and girls. We have a Blue and Gold Macaw a Eclectus and a Jenday Conure. My Macaw is very fussy with whom he likes but he always comes back happy after spending time with Gail and the other Birds. I would recommend Toos Nest to any Parrot owners.
Alan and Tasha
I’ve left Mac my Green winged Macaw with Gail for the last two years when I have gone away for holidays etc. Mac’s first stay with Gail was a short one to see if he would settle. I was extremely nervous of leaving my boy but needn’t have worried, he had a lovely cage lots of company and was well looked after. Since that first visit Gail has been a God-send. Mac is a very large bird but Gail handles him with care and confidence. She is someone who I have phoned on several occasions for advice and is always willing to listen and help where she can. I now have a new addition to my family a small cacique Parrot named Bobby he now accompanies Mac on his visits. I would thoroughly recommend her to anyone who has any bird no matter how small or large, she will look after them as if they were her own.
Pam.
We left our 4 cockatiels, one of which is sick, and our parrot with Gail for nearly 3 weeks and when we returned they were in excellent condition and well looked after. Without Gail`s help we would not be able to go away as we would not trust anybody else to look after them. We are so glad we found Toos Nest.

Paul Tinwell November 2014
Jasper the African Grey has spent yet another week with Gail while I holiday in France, I leave him with confidence knowing that Gail will look after and care for him as she would her own, I think he also enjoys the change of scenery. See you again in 2015.
Paul.
Before we found Toos Nest my husband and I always used to worry whenever we had to leave our parrotlet Nutmeg anywhere else for a length of time. We are delighted with the service provided at Toos Nest. Gail is experienced with all sorts of birds and we can relax on holiday knowing that Nutmeg is in safe hands. Although we live in North London, which is quite a distance from Toos Nest, we now wouldn’t leave Nutmeg anywhere else.
We have boarded Nutmeg with Gail twice now. The last time we took her to Toos Nest Nutmeg greeted Gail by flying out of her travel cage and landing on top of her head – a high compliment indeed from this particular parrotlet!
We are pleased with the reasonable prices as well.
Sarah, David and Nutmeg
I leave my macaw, Charlie, with Gail about 4 times a year. He settles well with her flock and I know that if he is ill she can get expert veterinary advice. She always replies to my emails enquiring about him whilst I am away. Nothing seems to be too much trouble for Gail. I feel very lucky to have Toos Nest not too far from my home and so near to Gatwick.
Julia and Charlie. East Sussex.
Never went away for years due to worrying about who would look after our birds when we were away. Fortunately Gail is extremely knowledgeable having worked with an avian vet for years. More importantly, she realises the importance of keeping in touch by texts etc. which is very reassuring when you are apart from much loved pets. Leaving 17 budgies and 8 finches in her care is the best recommendation we can give. Thanks Gail.
We have used Toos Nest for many years and have always been happy with the service. Our two cockatiels are well looked after and we can relax on holiday knowing that they are in the best of hands. I would recommend Toos Nest to anyone who needs bird boarding
I was worried about going away and leaving my 1 year old African Gray Rio but a friend told me about Gail at Toos Nest. Toos Nest is like a 5* hotel for parrots.
Gail is excellent with the birds and has great knowledge about them from working with an avian vet. Gail even came to my house to do the blood test to make sure Rio was safe to stay with her.
Gail kept in touch via email so I knew how Rio was doing. I have left her with Gail twice now and it is so nice to know that Rio will be safe and well looked after. I’m so pleased I’ve found Toos Nest so I can book my next holiday without worrying about Rio. Most of all Rio comes back happy with new sounds and words.
I would 110% recommend Toos Nest to anyone.
Thanks for all your hardwork Gail and passing on all your tips.
Bob & Rio
Its been three years now since I have been boarding my Mollucan Cockatoo with Gail who has shown through care and consideration for Sami. Being so attached to my parrot, I felt really awful leaving her the first time, but on my return, Sami was kept with so much affection and care that her appearance really and truly showed how much Gail had cared for her as she really glows on her return and family members have also noticed. Gail also provides updates at all times which gives a good level of comfort when I am away as can get regular updates. Am glad to have found Gail as I leave Sami with her care free and would highly recommend Toos Nest Bird Boarding as the perfect home for birds to be taken care of, Ur a Star Gail!!!!
I ‘found’ Gail about a year ago and we took our conure to stay for a one night holiday to socialize him…He’s a bit of a feisty one but we were amazed how he became putty in Gail’s hands! Fast forward a year and we wouldn’t take our bird’s anywhere else than Aunty Gail’s…We’re taking our budgies to stay while we’re away this Xmas and I know they’re in safe and experienced hands. Gail welcomes you into her flock and is the biggest bird lover I know. Your birds couldn’t have a better holiday home to retire to and make new friends đ thanks Gail x
This is the first time I have left my 4 month old African Grey (Peanut) with Gail at Toos Nest. I was nervous leaving her with anyone but she was very happy there and was made to feel at home in a cage made to meet all her needs. Thank you Gail for taking such good care of Peanut and the regular updates on her stay and I will be leaving her with you when I am next away
Very grateful to Gail for taking Amber our Senegal at such short notice. Gail was very helpful in arranging the blood test required to make sure Amber was not carrying any bird disease. Amber settled in well and stayed for just over a week. Gail provided updates on Amber’s well being which were very reassuring. We are very happy to recommend Gail, she has an excellent knowledge of birds and is very caring with them.
Thanks very much Gail.
Coconut the Umbrella Cockatoo just had a wonderful stay at Toos Nest. It was his first time mingling with other birds so he was a little sheepish at first, but was happy to go straight in for a cuddle on Gails shoulder. Gail what wonderful work you do for the birds and it’s great to have found you, knowing my baby is safe and loved whilst I am away. Coconut was talking all the way home but when he got home fell asleep for the whole day he was zonked out with all the excitement. I think he thoroughly enjoyed his stay with you.
Thanks very much for being his mummy for a few weeks and putting up with his needy ways :0)
Lou, Stew and coconut xx
Left my three bruisers with Gail December 2013. They seemed quite settled immediately. I had frequent texts with Gail whilst I was away who gave me regular reports of their wellbeing. She definately went above and beyond with her help. Thank you Gail and see you soon x
Pippa our African Grey has been going to Gail’s for several years now (recently at the end July) and I can’t think of anyone better too look after her. I am sure Pippa is very happy to go to Gail’s and always makes quite a fuss when I pick her up again. Gail is so knowledgeable and caring and I’m so glad to have found her. I know I can call on her more or less any time and she is always there to help whatever the problem I have with Pippa. Definitely a ***** bird boarding.
Many thanks Gail, you are a very special person!!!
Rupert my parrot has been boarding with Gail at Toos Nest for a couple of years now and he always enjoys his stay there.
He makes no fuss at getting into the cage that he stays in while he is there and always appears happy, chatty and contented when we pick him up.
Gail has a vast knowledge of parrots which makes me feel very confident about leaving Rupert with her.
Thanks Gail for being so caring as it is comforting to know that he is in such good hands while we are away.
Gail has looked after my two year old African Grey, Django on a couple of occasions now and I am always so pleased to know that he is being looked after by such a warm, caring and very knowledgeable lady. I woudn’t leave him with anyone else. I would highly recommend Toos Nest, as would Django. Thanks Gail.
Percy Parrot enjoys his pollydays at Toos Nest. I think he enjoys the change of scenery and making some noise with the other birdies. As Gail has such a wealth of knowledge and experience of parrots I always feel more than confident that Percy is in great care. Additionally, Gail has such a love of parrots and is so passionate about what she does. Thank you Gail, I would be lost without you.
We first met Gail when she was our cockatoosâ veterinary nurse and gave them such loving care. Itâs was difficult parting with them when we planned a longer holiday than usual, so it was a great relief to know that they were going to stay with Gail in our absence. Gail loves birds and has the rare gift of identifying and understanding their individual characters and needs. She is able to bring to their care all her professional skills and years of experience. We give Toos Nest the highest recommendation to other bird-lovers.
Gail, Just a short note to say thank you very very much for looking after Kiki, We go on holiday several times a year and usually leave Kiki with friends, This time round I wanted him ( yes HIM, Thanks to Gail sorting out sexing for us) to go to somewhere different, He came back such a happy parrot, We had a 40 mile drive home after picking him up and he never stopped chatting and doing somersaults in the car. Kiki is one happy parrot and has really enjoyed his stay at Too`s, We are off on holiday in August again and guess where he is going. THANKS Gail. Too`s service is next to none and please dont hesitate to leave your baby there, Gail and hubby are top notch stand in parronts.
Gail looked after my 23 year old cockatiel for four weeks earlier this year. I was really worried about leaving him with someone he didn’t know, as he has hardly ever been away from the family home. I spent a long time researching various pet sitters but knew that Gail offered something different. It is clear that she has a genuine interest in the wellbeing of animals and I could see that this was more than just a business to her. I was sincerely grateful for the care that Gail took and it made such a difference to our peace of mind. Charlie was returned home very chirpy and full of energy – it was obvious that he had been well looked after. It was also great to know that he was in good company whilst he was away, with all the other birds there with him. I would recommend Gail with absolutely no hesitation.
There are lots of things to think about when going abroad. Happily, what to do with Frank, my Congo African Grey, is not something I have to worry about. I do not think there can be a better place for birds to board in the UK, and I feel fortunate to know about Toos Nest and Gail.
I actually think Frank genuinely enjoys his holidays there. He seems to come back with new sounds every time!
As you know Gail I cannot thank you too much for your care of Eric on my emergency hip trips to hospital!! He came back a very happy parrot and I was very pleased to know he was with you and being well cared for.
We came across Toos Nest just by chance several years ago whilst sourcing veterinary care; pet passport advice on taking Rosie, our Goffin Cockatoo, with us on a 6 month business trip to Mallorca. With all the complexity and uncertainty of getting her back to the UK with fears of another Bird Flu outbreak, we decided on a board option and visited Toos the following day. We were so relieved when we met Gail and the feathered crew and were presented with what can only be described as a Bird Paradise and the Comedy Club! Parrots are everywhere, chatting, dancing, doing tricks and having fun! There are even perches in the shower for those where hygiene is high on their agenda! The garden flight aviary is perfect for sunny days and Rosie has never looked back. She spends her whole time swapping boyfriends with the male cockatoos; some dating for just a day and others a week and as yet there are no wedding plans on the horizon.
Amazing place, great value and the perfect solution.
Too’s Nest is a wonderful place. Gail is very experienced and knowledgeable about birds and gives excellent care. I trust her implicitly with Peanut my senegal. Would definitely recommend.
When our obliging parrot sitting neighbours moved we were very concerned about how we could ensure that our African Grey could be looked after when we were at our house in France. We needn’t have worried. Gail’s boarding service at Too’s nest is the perfect solution. Convenient, reasonably priced, but above all we are confident that Rosie is being well looked after and not “pining for the fjords” (cf Monty Python). Rosie never makes any fuss when she realises that she is going and I think she really does think of a stay as at Too’s nest as a holiday.
I have left my beloved grey Bugsy with Gail twice now whilst we’ve been on holiday, and have been really reassured each time that he had been well looked after during his stay. Gail is clearly a keen bird lover and a natural with the birds (and other animals too!) so it has always felt that Bugsy was being left in very safe hands. This is reassuring and means that you are free to enjoy your holiday or trip away without worrying about your beloved feathery friend.
I wouldn’t hesitate to use Tooâs Nest in the future or recommend her bird boarding to a friend.
As we take long holidays it is great to leave my two Amazons at Toos Nest with a professional carer. I know if they become unwell they will receive treatment quickly, as one bird is diabetic. They always enjoy their stay and settle in quickly with their feathered friends. I know that they are well looked after, in a clean and comfortable environment. I would advise to book early to ensure that there is space, although in a real emergency Gail will try to accommodate your bird.
Iâve boarded my African Grey with Gail at Toos Nest for about 5 years now. I was nervous leaving him initially, as I had never left him with anybody before. He has always been happy there and I know heâll be well looked after. Brilliant place to board and the different birds are really amusing to see, both in their cages and in the flight, when allowed!
